Comet P40 Bypass Valve O-Ring 00005-00460, 2.62x13.1 mm, New Design

The Comet 00005-00460 Viton O-ring (2.62 x 13.1 mm) seals the bypass valve on the new-design Comet P40 soft-wash pump.

This part is for the new-design Comet P40 diaphragm pump. The P40 is a common choice for soft-wash rigs, rated around 11 GPM at up to 300 PSI with chemical-resistant wet parts. Check the Comet P40 breakdown sheet to confirm the part and position number for your pump before ordering.

O-rings on a soft-wash diaphragm pump live in constant contact with sodium hypochlorite and surfactants, so they harden, flatten and weep over time. A small leak at a seal can let the pump suck air, lose prime or drip chemical onto the frame. Replace this seal whenever the joint is opened, and inspect neighboring seals at the same time. Lightly lubricate with a chemical-compatible O-ring grease before assembly and seat it evenly in its groove to avoid pinching.
